NTU’s ISC welcome tea session, held on 24th August at Fuji Ice Palace, was definitely a night filled with complete fun for those who graced the event on Thursday, 24th of August at Fuji Ice Palace. It was a great experience for us all as it was a first time for most of the students being on the ice-skating rink. The number of students who turned up was simply amazing, and they were all geared up for real fun. The session was kicked off with our President, Hui Beng who welcomed us most warmly together with Eunice. The main committee was introduced to all members followed by a demonstration by Wenkai and Reon. They shared with us some useful tips and left us in awe with the fantabulous short demonstration on ice. Shortly after, all were then called on to the ice rink, and then the rocking experience began. As some members were complete beginners, they had sectioned part of the ice rink specially for them. Our experienced committee members clad in black collar tees were all around in the ice rink guiding and gliding on ice. “Ahhhhh!” “Whoa!” were very much exclaimed and heard of during the ice-skating session. It was enjoyable for all though some bumped into each other, fell together and was pushed by another. The beat and rhythm of the music together with the cool atmosphere was very relaxing and soothed our minds after a long day in school. Of course, with a short break in between, delicious and tasty pastries and cakes were prepared for us. Some decided sit and chatted with friends savouring the food while others were simply too eager to get back on the ice. As most members came from the different faculties, many mingled around and made new friends. Yeayyy!! Towards the end of the session, some great music were played and with the lights dimmed, the disco lights was a nice touch to create a mystical ambience. Soon enough, it was ten o’clock in the night. Awww … time to head back home, but well the next session will be coming up soon anyway!! Overall they definitely had a great time trying to balance and learning to skate, as well as some hard falls, but overall it was great fun that they had. Well what are you waiting for!!!
